
RIPON, Wis (WRPN)- With a major winter storm expected to sweep through Wisconsin this weekend the National Weather Service has issued advisories and watches.
A High Wind Warning continues until 4 pm this afternoon for Columbia, Dodge, Fond du Lac, Green Lake, Marquette and Sheboygan counties. Meanwhile a Wind Advisory for Calumet, Waupaca, Waushara, and Winnebago counties is in effect until 6 pm tonight. Wind gusts could reach up to 50 to 60 miles an hour.
Winter Storm Watches have been issued too. For Calumet, Waupaca, Waushara, and Winnebago counties snow totals from Saturday evening through Monday afternoon could be between 12 to 18 inches with localized totals in excess of 24 inches and wind gusts as high as 45 miles an hour.
A Winter Storm Watch is also issued for Columbia, Dodge, Fond du Lac, Green Lake, Marquette, and Sheboygan counties with heavy snow and blowing snow possible Saturday night and Sunday. Snow accumulation amounts depend on the path of the storm. The watch is in effect from 7 pm Saturday night to 4 pm Monday.
Depending on the severity of the storm, Winter Storm Warnings could be issued.
