RACINE, Wis – (WRJN) — Memorials are this week for Mollie Jones. The longtime Racine alderwoman and civic leader, died peacefully on Thursday, Feb. 6, at Ascension SE Wisconsin Hospital in Franklin. She was 79.
Jones was re-elected to represent the 2nd District last year. Racine Mayor Cory Mason praised her as “a fierce advocate for her constituents” who “seemed to know everyone by name.”
“Her legacy is one of dedication, advocacy, and a profound commitment to the people of Racine,” Mason said in a statement.
According to an obituary, homegoing services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 15, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 14, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Saturday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
Jones is survived by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
